The work began today, 23 February 2026, and is scheduled to run through to 24 April 2026. Work will take place from Monday to Friday, between 09:00 and 17:00, with select operations extending into the night between 19:00 and 05:00 on certain roads.
The scope of work entails:
- Repairs to kerbs, channels and isolated block paving
- Isolated sidewalk repairs
- Resurfacing of roads and reapplication of road markings
‘These roadworks in Ottery aim to enhance road quality, improve traffic flow and ensure the long-term safety of commuters in the area. I urge residents and motorists to remain alert for temporary traffic lane closures and to plan their routes accordingly during this project’s period. Together, we’re helping keep Cape Town moving,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.
